Order pre-scanned wholesale pallets of used books for FBA

Tired of duds? Wasted space? Striking out entirely? Order pre-scanned gaylords of books worthy of selling on amazon.

Using our propriety valuation software, we take into account sales volume, average selling price, average selling price by season, seasonal books vs non-seasonal books, average sell-through, and much more to give you an extremely accurate idea of what potential profit could be.

Stop over-paying for books

We never want to overcharge you for a book. We use intelligent pricing models that analyze past sales data to ensure the price being set is realistic.

For example in this graph, if a book has a median sales price of $24 but the current price on Amazon is $79, we don't charge you for a $79 book (even though you might be able to sell it for that). We instead lower the price back to the median and charge you as if it were a $24 book.

Why would anyone sell pre-scanned books to me instead of listing them on Amazon?

Each supplier’s reasons may vary a bit, but it often comes down to cash flow. Running a bulk operation is quite cash intensive, and by selling a few pallets through our wholesale program they can collect cash up front which allows them to keep their operation humming without taking on new loans.

Some suppliers may opt to sell everything through our wholesale program and remove the need to hire additional employees to list and ship the books. As they narrow their focus to scanning books only instead of selling them directly on Amazon, they can ramp up their volumes which in turn may drive down their acquisition costs.

Lastly, some suppliers may be bumping into storage limits for Amazon FBA, and by using our wholesale program they can continue to process inventory until their storage capacity is increased.

Frequently Asked Question

You've got questions, we've got answers.

How much does it cost?

This is entirely up to you! We sell pallets based on your budget. If you put in an order for $1,000, our suppliers will scan books into a pallet until it reaches your desired number. Typically, a full gaylord of FBA material will cost around $2,500 and have a $5,000 valuation.

How many pallets can I purchase?

Currently, our demand often exceeds supply meaning we have a waitlist for purchasing pallets. You will put your name on a list with your desired investment amount, and once your name comes to the top and a supplier is near you, we will contact you and let you know a pallet is ready for purchase.

How is shipping handled if I don't have a dock?

Shipping is worked into the overall cost of your pallet or pallets and is discounted using our bulk rates. If you do not have a loading dock you can request lift gate service and the freight company will unload the pallet for you.

Will every single book be profitable? Or is it possible to have a pallet of duds?

Every single book that is placed into a pallet fits our requirements for profitability and return on investment. Since the price of books is constantly changing, there are times that some books that were initially excepted come back as a reject once they get to you. This is rare since we bake in sales velocity, price history, seasonality, and much more to ensure you are being charged a reasonable price for every book in your gaylord.

How are the pallets priced?

Check out this video to view our pricing algorithms (please don’t share with others) Pricing takes into account historical demand for a book (using eScore) as well as historical sold prices (using ScoutIQ’s data) to arrive at a CONSERVATIVE profit estimate for each book. The more often a book sells, the higher percentage of that estimated profit we’ll charge for the book. A typical pallet has an average sales rank in the 500k - 900k range.

Why would you sell a pallet full of profitable books instead of selling them yourself?

Here's how it works.  There are large bulk sellers out there that purchase books by the truckload.  A truckload contains 44 gaylords of books, and a typical accept rate to resell these on Amazon is roughly 10%.  So a truckload of books basically gets distilled down to 4-5 gaylords of FBA-worthy material.

For a bulk seller, buying books by the truckload causes a strain on their cashflow.  They can list the good books on Amazon and wait 3-6 months for their cash to come back in the form of Amazon payouts, or, they can sell these at a discounted rate today and pocket the cash.  This cashflow boost will allow them to buy even more books and drive down their cost of material from their suppliers.

This creates the perfect opportunity for you, as a seller, to get pallets of pre-sorted material regardless of where you live or what sourcing opportunities exist in your area.

Who is the one selling the pallets?

We have bulk book sellers that supply these pallets across the United States. Once you purchase a pallet, we connect you to the supplier closest to you for fulfillment.

How much is shipping for a pallet of books?

Shipping cost vary depending on weight of pallet and shipping location. The cost however is always baked into the price so you can be sure you'll get a minimum of a 50% ROI taking into account the freight charges.

Can you list the books for me?

Some of our suppliers will offer a listing service where they will condition, list, label, and box up the books for you. Then they’ll ship them directly to an Amazon warehouse on your behalf. Costs will vary, but we’re targeting roughly $0.80 per book to offer this service. Subject to each supplier, but you can select a preference when you fill out the survey.
